  • Blonde Norwegian leading lady Greta Gynt went from the stage to films in 1934 with the Swedish Song to Her. Gynt enjoyed her greatest success in British films, where she remained a favorite from 1936 until the mid-1950s. Often cast in blood-and-thunder melodramas, she screamed and widened her eyes in such films as Sexton Blake and the Hidden Terror (1938) and Dark Eyes of London (1940). Greta Gynt went on to more sedate (but no less entertaining) roles in Dear Murderer (1947) and Soldiers Three (1951).
