A formidable performer who made his name on the stage and screens of the United Kingdom, Henry Ian Cusik earned considerable acclaim after moving across the pond to play fan favorite Desmond Hume on the hit series "Lost" (ABC, 2004-2010). Prior to his Emmy-nominated turn on "Lost," Cusick began his career on British and Scottish stages in a number of classic productions before transitioning to the screen for a recurring arc on the long-running "Casualty" (BBC One, 1986- ) and the leading role of Jesus Christ in "The Gospel of John" (2003). At that point, Cusick made the jump to Hollywood and immediately landed the role of Desmond Hume, whom he played over the course of the ensuing four seasons. Cusick's performance as Hume was widely praised by critics, as his character rapidly became one of the show's most popular. At the same time, he had a pair of memorable episodes of "24" (Fox, 2001-10) before landing a supporting role as the target of an unflinching assassin in "Hitman" (2007). After "Lost" exited the airwaves in 2010, Cusick wasted no time in landing work, playing a futuristic FBI agent on "Fringe" (Fox, 2008-13) and returning to regular series status with a small part on the hit Shonda Rhimes drama, "Scandal" (ABC, 2012-18). Thanks to his role on "Lost," Cusick was able to continue his success in America.
