Midland, an American neotraditional country music band, was founded in 2013 and is based in Dripping Springs, Texas. The band members are Mark Wystrach, who handles lead vocals; Cameron Duddy, who plays bass guitar and provides backing vocals; and Jess Carson, who plays lead guitar and provides backing vocals. The band signed with Big Machine Records in March 2016, and released their self-titled debut EP, "Midland," in October 2016. The EP peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. This was followed by their first full-length album, "On the Rocks," was released in September 2017. "On the Rocks" peaked at No. 2 on the Top Country Albums chart, and at No. 20 on the Top 200 chart. The first single from the album, "Drinkin' Problem," peaked at No. 4 on the Hot Country Songs chart, No. 3 on the U.S. Country Airplay chart, and No. 45 on the Hot 100 chart. It has also done sales of over 336K, and has been certified Gold by RIAA. "Drinkin' Problem" was nominated for Group Video of the Year at the 2017 CMT Music Awards, and was also nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Midland also won New Vocal Duo of the Year at the 2018 ACM Awards, and have been nominated for Vocal Group of the Year and Single Record of the Year.
