      Oscar Smith was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Smith started his acting career landing roles in such films as "The Wizard" (1927), "Beau Sabreur" (1928) and "Close Harmony" (1929). He also appeared in "Dangerous Curves" (1929) with Clara Bow. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the thirties, appearing in "Guilty As Hell" (1932), "Cocktail Hour" (1933) and the thriller "Night of Terror" (1933) with Bela Lugosi. In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Ready For Love" (1934), "Hold 'Em Yale" (1935) and the Bob Hope comedy adaptation "Nothing But the Truth" (1941). Smith more recently acted in "Double Indemnity" (1944). Smith passed away in March 1956 at the age of 71.
