Ted Maynard was a prolific actor who created a name for himself largely on the big screen. Maynard began his acting career in action flicks like "Highlander" (1986) starring Christopher Lambert and the Christopher Reeve film "Superman IV: the Quest for Peace" (1987). He also was featured in the miniseries "Ellis Island" (1984-85). He also appeared in the TV movie "Murrow" (HBO, 1985-86). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties and the nineties, appearing in the Dennis Hopper fantastical comedy "The American Way" (1987) and "Night Breed" (1990) with Craig Sheffer. He also appeared in the TV special "The Summit: A Nuclear Age Drama" (PBS, 1987-88). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Vin Diesel smash hit action picture "XXX" (2002) and the Brandon Routh hit action movie "Superman Returns" (2006). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Robert Ludlum's The Apocalypse Watch" (1996-97). Most recently, Maynard acted in the thriller "Knowing" (2009) with Nicolas Cage.
