102 Dalmatians 2000

102 Dalmatians

Critics Consensus

This sequel to the live-action 101 Dalmatians is simply more of the same. Critics say it also drags in parts, potentially boring children, and that it's too violent for a G-rated movie.

Movie Info

In this all-new tale, Cruella De Vil (Glenn Close) is released from prison on good behavior vowing that she will have nothing to do with fur ever again. She, however, cannot keep this promise and is soon plotting another "fur-ocious" scheme to get her ultimate Dalmatian coat. The fun and adventure shift into high gear as Cruella and the dogs romp through Paris.

Sequel to an already terrible film, 102 Dalmatians is a film that is one of those films that is awful, due to a poor cast, poor writing, and poor directing. The cast assembled for this mess are horrible, the film is supposed to be fun, but ends up being stupid and pointless. This is one film that should never have been made. The film is made to simply cash in on the success of the first, which was poorly made as well. I really don't know why Disney has remade some of their most beloved classic films and it doesn't pay off. The films don't work, and they just end up being a stupid, pointless excuse to make more money. I hated this film, felt it lacked any real fire to truly make it stand out, which like the remake of the first didn't do that. Stick with the old school animated Disney features, Disney really missed the mark with these films, and it doesn't do anything to entertain. The film is horrible, and what's supposed to be entertaining, ends up being a stupid excuse for entertainment. This film doesn't work, and as a sequel it fails more than once, and it's one of those rare sequels that are worst that is worse than the first. Avoid this poorly constructed family film; you will waste your time if you check it out. The film is poorly constructed and is a mess from start to finish. If you're looking for a good family oriented film, this one isn't it. This is a film definitely not worth your time.

I was never a fan of the franchise, animated or otherwise, and I cannot really say I enjoy the movies even if they are not without merit. The puppies are cute, but I guess I more of a cat person.

Absolutely dreadful. Glenn Close once again proves that she is too nice to play the role of Cruella De Vil, and if that's not worse enough, another cheesy romance between dog lovers.
