Thyaagu C @Thyaagu Apr 9 The calmest Tarantino movie...? See more David M @RT30868034 Apr 6 Often cited as Tarantino's best film, this has aged in many of the ways you expect his films to age. Some aspects grate and feel uncomfortable - the film's attitude towards both women and race is at the very least to be questioned - and like most Tarantino films it's overlong. The relatively slow pace doesn't help, but as is so often the case he extracts outstanding performances from leads Samuel L Jackson and Pam Grier. It runs the risk of being more style than substance, not least in its evocation of a different era of film-making. As is also typical of his films, it lacks a clear moral centre; which isn't necessarily a problem (films are allowed to ask the audience to make the moral calls), but put alongside other issues with his filmography, it's hard to shake the idea that Tarantino isn't bothered about the consequences or collateral of the good time he wants to have with his fim. Which it is, ultimately - a good time compiled with great skill and little genuine consequence. There's a lot of swearing and it is quite long. AND. dare I say, a confused identity. I just mean, copying someone you think of as being cool, but it not really working when you do it. If you never knew how the other side lives, you’ll know after viewing this film. Great story line and contributions from Bridget Fonda and Michael Keaton.
