The lensing and production design are similarly generic, save for a handful of inspired shots that, again, provide glimmers of a clearer vision than the unevenly applied one we ultimately get here. Go to Full Review

Upon actually watching "Affection" for yourself, your leap of faith will be met with pleasant surprise. Though not without its faults, writer/director BT Meza’s horror-thriller lays a solid foundation for a new voice in the genre. Go to Full Review

There’s little to really chew on and appreciate as far as having another story focused on a woman figuring out how to drive herself away from a toxic abuser. Go to Full Review

A solid start and Jessica Rothe's exceptional performance only partially overcome this clunky psychological horror. Go to Full Review

Affection has no style or craft. It is so bland, so bereft of specificity, that bored viewers have no choice but to figure out the twist before the filmmakers are ready to reveal it. Go to Full Review

JDub 5d I liked that it told a good story without hitting hard on the gore. The opening setup definitely kept you guessing. We had questions after the movie was over because it didn't try to explain everything which was great. The end was satisfying. Good story and the scenes looked great. Worth seeing! I think it is an easy one to rewatch which I rarely feel with movies these days. See more TJDS10 T @TJDS10 2d While the film shows its cards a bit too early, and I wish it had committed to the psychological elements more, it's still never stops being an intriguing ride with creative twists anchored by strong performances. See more Joey P. @joeypedras 2d There’s a good idea somewhere in here, but the movie never seems to take the time to find it. Unfortunately, it plays like a Black Mirror episode left on the cutting room floor. The performances are fine, but the plot meanders without ever doing anything especially interesting or taking any real swings. The sci-fi elements feel rushed, and every chance to go deeper with the characters either gets cut short or falls flat. I hope the creators get to revisit this idea or theme in some form, because there’s something here worth exploring. But this version never really gets to the heart of what it’s trying to do. Unfortunately, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I definitely don’t think it worked. See more Jeff L @RT99057638 4d I went to the movies on a whim, and when I saw this featured Jessica Rothe, I choose to see this one. I've liked Rothe in everything I've seen her in, including this putting. The girl playing the daughter was a highlight, and the actor playing the husband was effective enough. The story was interesting, but in the final analysis, I just didn't find it scary. See more love H. @horrorfan123 4d The gore was good this movie was very good and I loved it.
