Audience Reviews for All Is Silence (Todo Es Silencio)

This Spanish drama directed by José Luis Cuerda started as a story about teenage friendship, and later moved to tell us what happened after 20 years of separation. Childhood friends Fins (Quim Gutiérrez) and Brinco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) reunite on opposite sides of the law in this period-drama that spans 1969 - 1989, set on the stunning Galician coast. [img][/img] Director José Luis Cuerda shows another good work after The Blind Sunflowers, a movie which represented Spain in the race for Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2009. But this screenplay wasn't always evenly paced and find itself few times lacking the real tempo. Style, on the other hand, was always there, and depiction of smuggling networks that operate on the Galician coast was outstanding. These people who are involved in illegal activities end up controlling the lives of the villages and all the people living there. If you like a story which is multilayered, about friendship who turns two young man into enemies, and a love turned sour, this movie won't disappoint you. It is not a movie you'll remember forever but it will leave a trace in your heart.
