Maria (Lavinia Wilson), a self-destructive young woman suffering from borderline personality disorder, finds the possibility of love when she makes a real connection with fellow student Jan (Maximilian Brückner). Soon Maria halts therapy in the interests of spending more time with her new beau. But when Jan leaves for a research trip, a downtrodden Maria struggles to overcome her old escapist tendencies as she slips rapidly into dangerous -- and all too familiar -- patterns of behavior.
