At All Costs stands as a captivating look into the Hoop Dreams factory.
Nicoll's film isn't the last word in polish, but...it does the job of shining a light on the culture of the AAU as one cog in a basketball machine that's increasingly focused at all levels on money.
Evocative of "Hoop Dreams" but much more about the hopes of becoming rich rather than escaping poverty. Good story-telling and very perceptive about the corporatization of high school basketball programs.
