Russ D @Calaverasgrande 3 days ago Kurt Russell Movies are hit and miss. So I suspended my disbelief and dove in. This story takes a little while to unfold. Don't zone out, or you will miss a few chunks of blatant exposition that make sense of it all. There is a long middle part before it get's into the more gore and horror section. So basically you have 3 parts, 2 of which are 'Western", and one is the body horror and gore section. The western bits are pretty good. It continues in that tradition of the gritty, filthy and cruel reality of the old west. Similar to Deadwood and other more recent Western efforts. Russell is great as the gruff old sheriff. My one complaint is that the movie takes way too long winding things up with little to no pay off until the last 20 minutes or so. There is some comic relief and a few incidents early on. But then there is about an hour of trudging in the middle. But the stuff at the end. Oh my. It get's kind of weird. See more Kyle R @kyle8reed Oct 6, 2026 Fantastic movie.
