Mark S @mrst-1998 19h The movie Bucha is why film matters. I hadn't heard about the killings, executions, and torture of innocent people in the town of Bucha before watching this movie. It stays with you, especially when you find out that it's a true story! Apparently the Russians (Putin) are trying to say it's not true, but I did my own research. The UN believes it happened, a bunch of NGOs believe it, and satellite images prove it. The film really pulls you into the story. You quickly begin to care what happens to people. One scene that's unforgettable is the no-good russian commander (colonel? whatever) who is "nice" to a little Ukrainian girl. It gave me the creeps. This film is definitely one you need to put on your list and watch. See more Gabby L @MovieGal95 Mar 18 I hope this film gets the attention it deserves. Everyone who cares about people caught in the middle of something they can't control should watch Bucha! Just like almost anyone, the main character just wanted to go about his life, but once he saw the faces of the people who needed him, he was compelled to help. Their stories are terrifying! The movie is based on a true story, and I definitely found myself wanting to know more about the Russian invasion into Ukraine - and praying for all the innocent people caught in the crossfire. He didn't want to get involved, but one experience behind enemy lines was all it took to convince him. He tries to back out of the dangerous job of helping others, but in the end, he knows that if he doesn't, many people will die. I want to show this movie to everybody I know! See more Chris C @CameraGuy-photography Mar 11 Don't let the quiet start of the movie, Bucha, fool you. Within a short time, we were hooked. The movie features a normal, fairly average guy who is asked to help save people in Ukrainian village under violent attack by the Russians when they first invaded a few years ago. What stunned me was hearing that it isn't just a true story (thousands of innocent people were viciously murdered in just a few months), but that some of the "actors" were the real people! Everyone should watch this. The film combines an important and painful topic with visually compelling storytelling, making it both intense and engaging to watch. It leaves a strong impression and reminds us of the resilience and bravery of ordinary people. I definitely recommend watching it! See more Q C. @QJCTVN Mar 8 A must see movie that is based on a true story. Heroism of ukrainians and story of a man risking his life to save others, when Russia envaded Ukraine in 2022. Tragic and horrific events thats also show heroism and kindness and what people are willing to do to help others, while risking their life. See more Read all reviews
