Cantinflas wears viewers down with earnest hero worship.
A big disappointment, a disjointed mess that tries to create a point-counterpoint narrative with these two savvy showmen, which inevitably tips the scales in favoring one of them.

For Del Amo, showing us what made Cantinflas work so well for the Mexican and international audiences is not what matters, what matter is him winning a Golden Globe for one of his lesser roles. [Full review in Spanish]
The movie stands on the surprising performance by Spanish actor Óscar Jaenada, very far from mere imitation. [Full review in Spanish]
