An excellent movie. The tension is palpable and heavy. There are some scary scenes like when Rabbit stabs Angie and when he approaches the sleeping Bob. The acting is amazing, as you feel true hatred for D'onofrio and sympathy for Rabbit. The viokent scenes seem so real, and I guess that's why the film originally had an NC-17 rating before Lynch edited it to get an R rating. This movie isn't gory or torture porn, it's emotionally violent and taxing.
mehh... nice concept. it gets a gold star for spookiness by default because the idea is plausible: a guy with childhood trauma becomes a serial killer, then kidnaps a child who he plans to become his protege. the child is torn between following his new father figure's footsteps or being "chained" up in the house forever. the film just plods along and you have the wait til the very end before something unpredictable happens.
I thought this was a memorable film. D'Onofrio is creepy.
Not bad. With the watch.
It's worth the shot of watching. My husband and I are both really into this. Some parts slow. But it's very interesting. Keeps you watching. I recommend
The most disturbing film I've seen for some time, so kudos for that! Stays away from being too explicit in violence or sex, more relying on a build up on the terror of the events taking place. Not for the faint hearted!
This film left me feeling somewhat confused and horrified. The direction, production, acting and story was good. I feel bad about enjoying the film because it is genuinely horrific. It's a very well made very disturbing film. I don't think I'll sleep comfortably tonight.
ok hostage drama from david lynch's daughter jennifer
I actually liked the twist to this one and although it's a very sinister story, it's done well. I was happy that although there is violence, it could have been a lot worse. Worth a watch if you like these thrillers.
Suspenseful and creepy with a wonderful performance from D'Onofrio
