Movie Info

The sci-fi telemovie Cloned, starring Elizabeth Perkins, Bradley Whitford and Alan Rosenberg, originally debuted on NBC, on Friday, September 26, 1997 (a timely premiere, given the birth of Dolly the sheep two months earlier) , and now arrives on home video in this release. Set in the near future, the picture revolves around geneticist Richard Kozak (Rosenberg), who clones numerous little boys for the benefit of infertile parents, but culls all of the replicants from the same set of DNA, and allows each mom and dad to believe that their little one is an exclusive. Perkins and Whitford play Skye and Rick Weston, a couple whose child was the offshoot of Kozak's scheme, but died years earlier in a boating accident. Skye stumbles onto a child who is the spitting image of her dead son, and from there, uncovers a vast conspiracy, masterminded by Kozak, that not only involves mass DNA cloning, but growing human organs in jars. Doug Barr directs, from a teleplay by Carmen Culver and David Taylor and a story by Perri Klass.
