Teacake (Joe Keery) and Naomi (Georgina Campbell), two young employees of a self-storage company built on the site of an old US military base, have their wildest night shift ever when a parasitic fungus escapes from the lowest sublevel of the base, where it was sealed by the government decades before. As the temperature rises underground, this highly contagious and rapidly mutating microorganism multiplies and unleashes its brain-controlling, body-bursting terrors on the facility's inhabitants -- human and otherwise. With time running out, it's down to Teacake and Naomi, with the help of a grizzled retired bioterror operative (Liam Neeson), to contain the merciless menace and prevent the explosive extinction of Mankind itself.

A clever, funny, suspenseful, interestingly cynical science-fiction horror movie with a great collection of monsters — courtesy of make-up geniuses Dave and Lou Elsey — and a cast whose enthusiasm is, appropriately, infectious. Go to Full Review

What the film lacks in budget (some of the special effects are on the schlocky side), it makes up for in propulsive energy and sizzling chemistry between the leads. Go to Full Review

Slow pacing, minimal character background, and a generic premise that fails to fully lean into the campiness it could showcase make for an unfortunately lackluster cinema experience. Go to Full Review
Will Penn Film Ireland Magazine 3d
The creeping infection story, the gore, the spreading sense of panic all sound like well-trodden ground. And it is, but the ensemble cast deliver their lines with such campy, visceral splatter-horror commitment that it hardly matters. Go to Full Review

Dre 4d Very funny with good pacing. A fun twist on a new zombie movie. See more David N 4d Fun little movie with a good cast. It’s a horror/comedy that works well. See more Rodney 5d Entertaining but forgettable. Easily overshadowed by older films that did it better. See more Jade 5d It was so funny I was laughing out loud, and then it just has the perfect amount of creepiness and gore too. Loved it! See more H Q 5d Nice. Hollywood is not so uptight. See more red misery 5d Instantly hooked by the mounting tension and impending doom, countered by flawed, yet endearingly earnest characters. See more Read all reviews
