... personal concerns fill the movie out to feature length but add little to the complicated debate over reforming police tactics.
Copwatch provides an interesting and valuable look at a group of people affecting change for the better, empowering them with more fully realized portraits than the evening news ever will.
[Camilla Hall's] characters are hopeful and, so, perhaps is Copwatch.

Big on vivid portraiture but less attuned to the issues at hand.
More of a stream of consciousness film than an eye-opening piece filled with revelations about police behavior and citizens rights, Copwatch left me wanting more.
Community activism is charged by action, otherwise it'd be community passivity, but Copwatch does best when going back to the source of activism's power.
It's uplifting and emotional, and there's a glimmer of possibility in an interaction with an officer near its end that turns both thoughtful and productive.
A minor picture in the canon of documentary films struggling to make sense of Ferguson and police tactics.
