Instead of playing a vital role in her rehabilitation, the clerics subject the newcomer to systematic abuse. Guided by her animal instinct, the child's mother unleashes all her fury against the matriarch who dared to take advantage of her child's vulnerability. "Darlin'" tackles the social horrors driven by the oppression of the Catholic Church, portrayed as an institution that subjects vulnerable women to its malevolent power. The movie's greatest sin lies in its lack of scary content, relying almost exclusively on the social message it seeks to convey. Uno de esos raros casos donde el desarrollo esta mejor que el final, que se sintió bastante medio pelo con lo que venia pasando. Así y todo es una buena película en si misma pero, aunque las comparaciones son odiosas, queda demasiado por detrás de la entrega anterior The Woman. I hadn't seen The Woman or Offspring which came before this film but I could still fully understand what was happening. I've since gone back to watch the prequels and enjoyed them both.
