Movie Info

An aspiring singer/songwriter finds the courage to pursue her dreams through her budding romance with a bona fide pop star. After her parents die in a tragic accident on the way to see her perform, teenage songbird Elle (Ashlee Hewitt) moves to L.A. to live with her uncle, the owner of a successful independent record label. Going to work for her uncle as an intern, dejected Elle becomes the whipping girl for Sensation, the pop act whose music put the label on the map. Just as Elle's ennui starts to get the best of her, however, a chance meeting with pop sensation Ty Parker (Sterling Knight) helps her to develop her voice as an artist, and sparks something magical within both of them. Before long, Elle is on the verge of realizing a lifelong dream, and Ty has discovered that true music comes from a place of honesty and passion.

Audience Reviews for Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale

The intro, alone, makes you not want to watch this movie. It wasn't as bad as I had feared, still, the acting and performances was mostly crappy. I guess I only liked it because of Sterling Knight and the awkward friends that liked each other.

This is a cute story even though I am not fond of country music. I also counted at least a dozen lines that were pulled straight out of 'Save the Last Dance'. They took the basic Cinderella story and meshed it with the other movie and then changed the talent from dancing to singing. The worst was the obvious school audition that was failed the first time and the death of a parent that then leads the girl to blame herself and doubt her talent. Too bad neither one of them could find their self worth again without their 'Prince Charming'.

Not that I expected much, but this is absolutely terrible. The acting is horrible even by cheesy, Disney kid standards, and the music is somehow even worse. I'm pretty sure I made it through about 15 minutes of this before I felt my brain melting and had to shut it off.
