Elway highlights one of the most celebrated athletes of the past 40 years, pro football legend John Elway. The documentary feature will follow his life on and off the field including being drafted to play baseball by the New York Yankees, starring in one of the greatest games in college football history, and winning two Super Bowls as a player and a third as an executive with the Denver Broncos. John Elway's narrative is undeniably historic--yet altogether human.

Featuring a current John Elway openly talking about his experiences, this documentary provides a solid look at Elway's career. Go to Full Review

It’s not breaking any new ground in sports documentary filmmaking, but Elway is a competent, smart look at one of the defining figures of his era in the NFL. It’s a good fill-in if Sunday’s games end up duds. Go to Full Review

I’ve long held the belief that high-level sport is the best storytelling medium in existence, and what I like about Elway is that it believes this too. Go to Full Review

Julia H @Jhubbel Jan 17 Look. Those of us who lived in Denver during his tenure- and I lived there fifty years- have VERY mixed feelings. We loved the wins, we loved the comebacks and yes, we loved the Superbowls. We did NOT love the wife cheating. WE did NOT love the rampant alcoholism. We did NOT love the cowardice of the Denver police who pulled this lush over endless times for what should have been yet another DUI, but nobody wanted to be the cop who busted, The Duke. The fundamental dishonesty of this whitewashed version of John's life makes this a fine lie. It insults Janet, it insults her experience of the man, it sidesteps all the legit reasons his marriage failed. It insults every Coloradan who cheered him on and who wept to know his failings. To NOT address the dark side of Elway is a con job. All heroes are problematic. Elway was a washout in his personal life. No amount of NFL glory can hide that. Elway was a great football player and a failed father and husband. See more Bronco B @BroncoBilly Dec 31 Great doc. If you are interested in great sports figures from that era, you'll enjoy this. See more K G. @K_Ray Dec 31 A lot more emotionally engaging than expected, and paired with the filmmaking quality from ‘80s and ‘90s sideline footage (intercut with John Wayne western movie references), it puts you in Elway’s shoes and takes you back to that era of pro football. This is a good watch, not only for football fans, but just movie fans in general with drama on and off the field. The pacing is good and keeps the anticipation running high. See more Michael W @mawilps Dec 30 This sports documentary was really good. The entire crew did an excellent job on telling the story of the legendary NFL quarterback, John Elway. It was very dramatic and inspirational. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see. See more Matthew B. @bromley93 Dec 29 After further review, this documentary stands as a solid but unspectacular ruling on the field. Elway’s greatness is clearly established and the film spots the ball correctly on his legacy: strong arm, big moments, career-defining finishes. The documentary leans toward a clean game, letting some tougher questions play out off-camera, and you’re left wanting a little more replay time on the controversial moments. No flagrant fouls, no overturns, but not enough evidence to call it elite. The call stands: good watch. See more Ian F. @thismeansguerra Dec 29 Do you like football? You’ll like this done by the same people that did hard knocks. It’s well done and interesting. I didn’t know that much about Elway and I took a chance on it and it was great.
