Movie Info

Jochen Epstein (Mario Adorf) has just completed a 15-year prison sentence for murder, and he is eager to leave Germany -- and his sordid past -- behind him. But as he walks the streets he used to amble with his friends Karl (Otto Tausig) and Adam (Bruno Ganz), he is overcome with powerful and painful memories, including the night he killed a man. It all began in a church, where the three friends recognized a Schutzstaffel soldier who had tortured them in a concentration camp years earlier.
