The dialogue is simple and effective, the resonance of the Aymara language almost musical in construction. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Eternity is a story crossed by the weight of the old age, more pressing when there is no one who collaborates to alleviate it at least a little. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It's a wrestling of wisdom and faith against time and natural forces. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Forget definitions like "commercial", "non-commercial" or "independent"; 'Wiñaypacha' is a great story worth watching in the theatre, period. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

G H @RT82519890 Nov 25 It is a hauntingly beautiful display of togetherness in absolute solitude. Bravo! See more MARTHA REGINA M @RT58995062 10/07/2024 Esta película muestra una realidad olvidada. See more Roberto S @RT34749519 07/22/2024 Two elder Aymara non-actors, a breathtaking location in the mountainous region of Perú with beautiful snowy peaks and a contemplative tone… but, what could have been an insightful and unique documentary shedding light on such an interesting culture, ends up being a maudlin fictionalized tale with an ambiguous message: if you don’t stay with your parents in a harsh environment forsaking your personal/professional goals, you’re a selfish individual who should be ashamed of yourself. Besides that, the film dragged on with static shot after static shot, thus wasting the opportunity of showing a wider and more detailed view of the magnificent landscapes the Peruvian Andes has to offer and turning its 1h28m running time into, well, an eternity. I think most of the ballyhoo this movie got was somehow condescending and relied on the “exotic” qualities of its director, leading characters and location. See more Luis M. D @RT44148560 11/22/2023 Esta no es propiamente una película. See more 12/22/2021 Oscar Catacora's first and sadly last film is, to say the least, heartbreaking. Millimetrically planned, Wiñaypacha is also a window to the culture and pain of a community, a history of old age and abandonment, as well as hopes that will remain forever as that.
