Scary at times, but uninspired and often illogical.
Pacing is humdrum at times, but overall Fertile Ground is well-acted, nicely shot, and competently made.
I just didn't care. I didn't care about the plot and I *definitely* didn't care about any of the characters.
Creepy goings-on occur when a couple grieving the loss of a recent miscarriage move into a new country home to make a new start. Not too bad a film but nothing overly special either. It has a couple of good jumpy scares, not very gory aside from a vicious stabbing sequence at the end. A slow-burner of a film but the story is good enough and leads to a satisfying conclusion.
Filled with tons of blood and gore and scary/frightening images, this film is easily one of the best of the After Dark Original series. One of the greatest haunted house movies out there.
It may has a familiar plot in the haunting houses genre but "Fertile Ground" really worth the watching time. It succeeds at delivering good scares, jumping moments and tension along with good acting and producing values.
