Logan D @Greynomad38 14h In the far future, humanity has abandoned emotion for logic and reason. Anton, disguising himself as a local, observes the culture of an earth-like society on another planet, forbidden to interfere. I've heard this adaptation of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky's novel eliminates a lot of the philosophical investigations for action scenes and the 2013 adaptation is heavier. However, I still found the inquiry into first contact ethics to be fascinating. What is our moral responsibility to those whom we don't share a cultural connection? Is a Vulcan like outlook always beneficial? Featuring the landscapes of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the texture of this film is gritty and hot. Armor is a burden, mud is prevalent, and the medieval city crowded. I was immersed during the viewing time. See more 07/02/2017 Horrid. Dialogue made no sense. I couldn't watch it.
