Movie Info

Hollywood Seagull is a modern version of Chekhov's classic romance of love, betrayal and hope. The film stars Lara Romanoff as Nina, a Russian actress in LA caught in a nest of Hollywood vipers. Oleg Vidov plays her grandfather. The original score by Evgeny Shchukin with songs by Vladimir Vysotsky and American jazz man Doug White is getting early buzz for Academy Award consideration. Shot on 35 mm on the bluffs of Malibu, the cinematography by Don E. FauntLeRoy is lush and breathtaking. The legendary editor Scott Conrad contributes his best work since he won the Oscar for Rocky. Now more than ever, the world needs wisdom, humor and grace - the world needs Chekhov. (c) Official Site

A refreshing, well-edited update of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull anchored by the bravura performances of Barbara Williams and Biff McGuire. Lara Romanoff sizzles.
