If Not Us, Who? (2011)
Critic Reviews for If Not Us, Who?
For a film about revolutionaries, this plays it far too safe.
This is a shrewd two-pronged portrait of psychological unravelling against a vast political backdrop, with a daring, disturbing performance from Lauzemis.
The film effectively conveys the way in which key events from the Sixties radicalised them both and propelled Gudrun into the arms of charismatic activist Andreas Baader.
Audience Reviews for If Not Us, Who?
A tragic and moving film with great performances by August Diehl as Bernward Vesper and especially Lena Lauzemis as Gudrun Ensslin. Great score by Annette Focks.
