Critic Consensus: Even the endless shots of bronzed beach babes and buffed dudes can't keep this soggy scuba flick's plot from drowning.

A glitzy little B-movie.

Any potential guilty pleasure is washed away in a sea of icky sermonizing.

I don't think there's anything wrong with an escapist adventure, but if you're rolling your eyes in disbelief at the plot and the dialogue, it makes it hard to enjoy the scenery.

Though marketed as brain-dead youth fodder, it's even worse than it looks.

It takes Stockwell forever to get these details into place, because he's primarily concerned with Caribbean and bikini-clad eye candy. But even that loses its novelty in a ridiculous showcase like this.

Audience Reviews for Into the Blue

Pretty bad but not awful. This is mainly due to the likes of Scott Caan, James Frain and the great Josh Brolin. It is hard to imagine what Josh Brolin was thinking when he took on this role as his scenes were some of the only interesting things in this film. Also shots of topless Paul Walker and various other desirable men make it watchable.

A cool movie with the lives of cool people involved! It doesn't seem that great, but I enjoyed it, even though I know I shouldn't!

Awesome movie and seeing it again was a nice treat once again. Jared Cole and his girlfriend Sam Nicholson are a young couple living in the Caribbean. Jared is an unemployed diver whose dream is to find treasure in the Caribbean Sea and Sam works at a local resort as a shark handler. When Jared's best friend Bryce Dunn, a selfish New York lawyer and his new girlfriend Amanda Collins arrive, the two couples spend a couple of days experiencing paradise. But, they discover an airplane on the sea floor that crashed during a hurricane and they find the cargo on-board the airplane is cocaine. Jared and Sam's lives are in danger, when Bryce and Amanda make a deal with a dangerous drug lord who wants the cocaine. Jared's rival, Treasure Hunter Derek Bates learns what they are doing and tries to negotiate the cocaine to raise money for a expedition where he intends to find a sunken boat with treasure. Jared, Sam, Bryce, and Amanda find themselves racing against time to find the shipwreck before somebody else does.
