Deadlynightshade B Sep 19 First , the audacity to be considered director. Talentless. It seems that there was a weak effort to prove a point which failed horribly. I would not recommend it lacks of authenticity horrible equipment the scenes were faking a wanna be horror concept or type of skinamarink or live footage type paranirmal facade. Talent non existent. Rethink before losing time See more Gary H 01/10/2025 Wow was this movie bad. Just wow. As another reviewer said, absolutely none of it at any point made any sense. The characters actions or those that a person would only make if they had read the entire script of the movie and needed to make them to drive the plot forward. Throughout the entire movie, the characters dialog never matches what they'r doing or explains why they're doing it. The characters will say "We need to get out of here" then proceed to explore further into the place they're saying they should leave. Not for the purpose of finding an exit, but for the purpose of exploring even further. And what makes it worse is that the characters are repeating this for maye 20 mins straight while continuing to take actions that directly contradict the fear and sense of urgency to escape that they're telling you they feel. Now imagine that logic but for the entirety of the movie. Every progression between the characters have an immediate regression back to step 1, there is 0 sense of location like I have no clue how they even get basic supplies where they're located because it seems like there is nothing for miles yet there is also an abandoned city right next to them withing walking distance, I don't think any of them even went to work or school at any point, the movie is supposed to be found footage yet a lot of shots are from perspectives and angles that you can't even record, I am assuming you need prior knowledge to know what a Mormo is because nothing is ever explained and things just..happen. And the worst part is, the characters are insufferable. Even the little kid. This movie is like a reverse horror movie, they deserve everything that happens and I am just waiting for the scary stuff to start so I can see if they get what they deserve or not. The only good character and actor in this movie is the dog, he was a good boy. Sometimes I read the reviews of a movie and some people say its bad but provide no context so I end up watching it anyways. Hopefully I have provided you more than enough context as to why you should not seriously watch this movie. However, this would make a fantastic movie to pour a couple of drinks to and watch with your partner or a group of friends that you share a mutual interest in horror movies with See more Thomas M 01/08/2025 Terrible movie. Very slow to get going and full to the brim with contrivances. Even by horror movie standards the people behave like absolute morons. The acting is poor and because its a found footage style movie 90% of the time its just dark, grainy, shaky first person view of nothing. The ending was predictable and unsatisfying. The deterioration of the husband and wifes relationship makes zero sense and is just there to add drama. People experiencing paranormal activity on a regular basis and they are sure one moment they are being haunted only for two scenes later for them to not believe the other person when they tell the other they just had an experience. They behave very casually to some pretty intense paranormal activity and its frustrating watching people make poor choice after poor choice just so the plot can advance. Slow start, some decent terror and dread build up in the middle and then finishes in a predictable way that annoys. I want my 5.99 back See more Jared C 01/05/2025 Complete garbage, the acting was bad, timeline made no sense, leaving the girl by herself made no sense, staying in the house made no sense, keeping the box made no sense. The only thing that made sense is that there wasnt anything demonic shown because this movie was total horse S*@% See more Antony W 12/15/2024 Its Name Was Mormo is a deeply atmospheric and emotionally charged film that blurs the lines between psychological horror and raw human drama. I quite liked watchingn for the first time, a real family telling us a story together. At its heart the movie tells the story of a mother battling with Mormo to protect her family. Theres also a book based on her diary pages. The found footage film grips you with its raw intensity. The hauntingly beautiful clearly unscripted use of everyday cameras pulls the audience into their minds. The village scenes are particularly weird, with an eerie tranquility that contrasts the character's torment, creating a visual experience that feels both immersive and unsettling which we enjoyed in the dark. Marcela and Mark's performance is exceptional, portraying the mother’s desperation, vulnerability, and resolve with harrowing authenticity. The choice to avoid CGI enhances the film's authenticity, grounding its supernatural elements in practical effects that feel tactile and unnervingly real. Also I quite liked the use of the symbol. It’s Name Was Mormo is not just a film—it’s an experience that were not reallt used to. Its haunting, poignant and fully independent filmmaking at its best: bold, innovative, and unafraid to challenge its audience. See more Read all reviews
