When aspiring filmmaker David is mandated by a judge to attend a social program at the Jewish Community Center, he is sure of one thing: he doesn't belong there. But when he's assigned to visit the Brooklyn Bridge with the vivacious Sarah, sparks fly and his convictions are tested. Keep the Change is a marvel in this way, never ignoring its character's realities, yet staying beautifully relatable to anyone dealing with insecurity or identity. David & Sarah are endlessly lovable & compelling, & they carry the film with grace & humor. It mostly doesn't force emotions; when it does, the obvious moments of ableism are a bit obnoxious, but the subtle ableism is pointed. The acting by the two main characters was consistently superb and believable. This film should be seen by the general population to obtain a better understanding of the challenges facing people on the spectrum and the need to understand and treat them with respect and dignity.
