Pulling off this claustrophobic level of immersion requires better orchestration than Kempff's drawn-out buildup. Go to Full Review

Knocking should be rewarded for its portrayal of suppressed trauma and playing out its story on such a small scale, but it should be a more arresting watch for the themes at play. Go to Full Review

Heat is powerful and rich, Kempff seems to say in this thriller, turning it into a veritable monster: a looming, suffocating, ever-present terror that makes protagonist Molly (Çecilia Milocco) lose an already-lost mind. Go to Full Review

Jonathan K @aFIREintheattic Oct 13, 2024 I'm not sure it's actually a very good movie. The slight twist at the end undermines all the tension and uncertainty that came before. Its ambiguity was its power and they gave it all away in the service of social commentary, without letting the audience in on it to build any kind of rapport to support it. Not very well executed. Hugo - Shudder F @Hugo_Shudder Nov 4, 2022 The eerie atmosphere and the amazing performance from the main protagonist are the core attractions of this horror movie. But the climax is too predictable with the protagonist being consumed by her own psychological drama. See more

Courtney K @c0urtn3y Mar 21, 2022 a slow burn, for sure, but also effective. i enjoyed it. i feel like most everyone can somewhat relate to hearing sounds through walls via neighbors or other family members; & the paranoia that could come with constant unknowns. especially when you're alone. i thought it was well done. would recommend, but you'd have to be in the mood for it i think. Feb 6, 2022 A deep psychological drama from the well established Swedish tradition of producing films that are mind numbingly boring to sit through. Despite its relatively short length it felt much, much longer. Well acted, but dull, dull, dull. See more
