i just watched this in 2025-it's a little and i'm not sure why but i liked it for the most part and loved the actor who plays Taylor and Kathy Bates-i just love her.

Wildly underrated. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time (Thank you William H. Macy). Gives you hope that film making isn't completely dead. The collection of characters and acting is awesome. Witty, charming, and intelligent (ha, probably why it got low scores?). Reminds me a little of the flavor of "The Girl Next Door."

I don't see why so many are ragging on this movie. Sure, it was nothing great, but it was fun and a little offbeat. Quite predictable but the characters were believable and story fun and upbeat. Not great but good for a night of entertainment

Very refreshing! The dialogue was funny and at times charmingly Faulknerian. Characters were likable, warts and all. It was nice to see William H. Macy directing. The surreal animated bits were creative and stirring.

This is a completely misunderstood comedic movie that simply lampoons it's southern characters with witty charm. From Kathy Bates to Bill Macey and Rosario Dawson, you can see why the movie drew them to their parts in the movie. Enjoy this underrated gem.
