Movie Info

A biting, social satire of reality TV and the glorification of those who are "famous for being famous," L.A. SLASHER takes aim at the current state of the entertainment industry, where it is acceptable (and even admirable) to gain influence and wealth without merit or talent - but instead through shameful behavior, and the notoriety that comes from it. Incensed by the tabloid culture that promotes this new breed of "celebrities," the L.A. Slasher publicly abducts a series of reality TV stars, which leads the media and the general public to question if perhaps society is better off without them. (C) Archstone

Critic Reviews for L.A. Slasher

All Critics (6) | Top Critics (2)

Even the most talentless and narcissistic fame seekers on reality television are not nearly as vile, reprehensible or worthless as a film that actively wishes harm on them.

The masked Slasher is voiced by Andy Dick, because nothing gives weight to your criticism of reality TV like having it stated by a guy who appeared in Celebrity Wife Swap.

June 24, 2015 | Full Review…

Fairly awful and useless.

July 14, 2015 | Rating: 1/5 | Full Review…

This bloody attempt at satire suffers from comparisons to other movies that did the same thing much better, but also from a flat, facile approach that renders everything slick, soulless, and vacuous.

June 26, 2015 | Rating: 1/5 | Full Review…

A good-looking effort but offers no threat, positioning itself as dangerous, chic, and wise when it's mostly muddled and poorly edited.

June 25, 2015 | Rating: D | Full Review…

It inflates the meta conceit (already borderline overblown) of a pop-obsessed, sex-negative serial killer to excessive but trite proportions.
