In Paris, bicycle shop owner Andre Morestan (Brian Aherne) sits on the jury at the trial of young Natalie Roguin (Rita Hayworth), accused of murder. Captivated by Natalie's demeanor, Andre is the sole juror holdout and Natalie is acquitted. Andre takes her home, presents her as the daughter of a friend and offers her a job in spite of the suspicions of his wife Michele (Irene Rich) and son Pierre (Glenn Ford). Natalie inadvertently causes more problems when she's recognized, and Andre begins to doubt his verdict.

In level of intelligence this film is above the average, but it is questionable whether it was worth translating into American. All the acting is well done, but a strange combination of genres with court room drama, comedy & romance. See more Jul 9, 2019 Columbia wants to showcase Rita at the cost of everything else: the plot, the production, the other actors. That's why people will praise Rita but detest the movies she's in.
