Various lessons are taught as bland tunes are warbled every now and again.
If you're looking for a video to entertain your youngsters, this wouldn't be a bad choice.
Maybe it's the pure blandness of the previous entries, but this stands out amongst the sequels as a genuine treat. The animation isn't that great, but there's enough story to go around. A cold winter is setting in, and so food becomes scarce in The Great Valley. Meanwhile Spike starts to spend time with his own kind, creating emotional riffs between him and Ducky. The subject of adoption is handled pretty well for a straight-to-video, talking dinosaur movie. In Ducky, we feel the love behind her contempt and the contempt behind her love. Spike is also given some great facial expressions to really emphasize his confusion. It's a nice change of pace to focus on Ducky and Spike, as the script actually takes their characters places. Littlefoot also learns about dignity in an enjoyable, if less engaging, subplot.
Good movie. I love all this movies with these dinosaurs. But this movie even more uninteresting than the first and the writers would have been better off turning this into a tv series like they did with the jungle book.
