Movie Info

Skip, the nighttime janitor in an Old West theme park, delves into the mysteries surrounding an old locker. His sage supervisor recounts chilling tales that underscore the importance of making the right choice. The recollection includes an aging boxer who is given an opportunity to become a real killing machine, a young man seeking membership in a secret society who experiences an initiation with deadly consequences, a would be suicide shaken to his core by a menacing member of a very special club, and a hit man for hire playing a devious cat and mouse game with three women who have a score to settle. The stories suddenly come into play when Skip makes an unsettling discovery and faces a life-or-death decision of his own.(C) Brothers Ink

Only those scared of being bored to death need fear "Locker 13," an omnibus of horror stories that could hardly be more tame, talky and tepid, both individually and as a whole.

While the finale at least puts the notion of an evil locker to some practical use, it might have been better if the filmmakers simply stored all the copies of "Locker 13" inside the haunted contraption and threw away the key.

An alternately creaky and intriguing ride, one of earnest ambition and dashed potential.

The transition from comedy to horror (and back) never fully gels, and nobody seems "on the trolley" with the period jargon.

As a die-hard fan of the horror anthology film, I take no pleasure in stating that Locker 13's few stray glimmers of quality are not worth the slog it takes to find them.

Locker 13 isn't a film so much as a dire symptom of a culture in which the ability to fund a movie has become reason enough to make one.

Audience Reviews for Locker 13

160521: This film makes me think of comic books. What's more important, the art or the story? Watch this film for the entertainment in the stories, not for the art. I enjoyed much of the time spent here. Much of the time. At least a couple neat actors are hidden within including Jon Polito (Miller's Crossing) and David Huddleston (Breakheart Pass). Locker 13 reminds me of the old Twilight Zone or Outer Limits. Fun can be had if you overlook the obviously smaller creative budget.

I personally love thriller anthologies, not horror anthologies. The old TV shows like Boris Karloff's Thriller, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Rod Serlings Twilight Zone and Night Gallery were so much better than the gorefest you usually get with the horror stuff. This is following in the great tradition of my TV favorites. Great fun performances from a slew of character actors and great stories with surprising twists!
