Movie Info

In this black teen comedy, a young man (Ethan Hawke) is thrilled that his kindly older brother has arranged for him to date the bombshell next door. To further impress her, little brother takes his sibling's shiny sports car. If he had known that there were a pair of corpses in the trunk though, the youth may have changed his mind. Matters get really messy when the cops pull him over and check out the trunk themselves. Soon he and his date find themselves pursued by the police, the tong and an irate florist.

The screenplay is immature at best, although with some cutting and embellishing, it might have been a far better entry into the genre.

Audience Reviews for Mystery Date

The abstract said a boy takes his new dream girl on a date with a dead body in the trunk of the car. OK, not your typical date movie. The boy takes the identity of his older brother--thats where the trouble started. The brother seems to be wanted by everyone from gangs to the police to the FBI. This fun movie had twist after twist. A very good movie. Fun to watch and only needs a bag of popcorn to complete.

"Never let the law stand in the way of a good time."-Craig McHugh (Brian McNamara) 82% A date flick where the shit keeps piling up. Uneven with its comedy to violence (just how I love it, keeps it fresh) just like the movie SOMETHING WILD. GWAR makes an apearance, I cried when thrash metal died.

Big rip off of license to drive with Corey Haim. Plus Teri Polo looks alot like Heather Graham from license to drive also.
