Mostly passable comedy...but a plot this rich needed a film even richer. Go to Full Review

Most of the drawbacks are saved by the screen presence of the suave man on screen. The film is by no means a masterpiece, but it is an entertainer. Go to Full Review

Director Lal Jr. and screenwriter Suvin S. Somasekharan's treatment of the subject is so flat and lacking any major conflict points, that the film aimlessly trudges along like a beast sapped of all energy. Go to Full Review

arvind s @Arvind100 05/10/2024 Movie about movies has become common this year. We have got three in the last two months with two coming last Friday. For those who have watched The Fall Guy, the actor in it is depicted as an arrogant character. Nadikar is about one such arrogant actor played by Tovino Thomas.  Nadikar is the story of David Padikkal, an actor who has delivered three blockbusters early in his career. This propels him to the so-called superstar status. When his movies start to bomb, his arrogance gets in the way of his performances. To counter this, he employs someone to teach him acting.  Lal Jr., unlike his father isn't exactly synonymous with blockbuster films. But the effort is visible. I personally loved Driving License. Even Nadikar is a good attempt at capturing how success gets to the head of actors. Tovino Thomas' performance captures the arrogance bit really well. But his transformation isn't something that is explored/captured in detail. His traumatic past is wrapped up in minutes. Suresh Krishna and Soubin Shahir stood out for me in this film. Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, Chandu Salimkumar, Anoop Menon, Bhavana co-star with Indrans in a heartfelt cameo. Unlike Malayalee from India (the other release of the week), Nadikar will not appeal to everyone. Though it keeps you hooked, Nadikar is a lost opportunity. Given the theme, it could have been much better but it ends up being a middling affair. See more Read all reviews
