Movie Info

A tale of the bitter reality of Nazi Germany's euthanasia practices. Ernst Lossa is a 13 year old boy who is traveling with his parents as "gypsies". Being rebellious, Ernst has spent some time in several different homes, where he was eventually declared educable. He is sent to a mental hospital and quickly realizes that many patients are being executed. Assuming that this is being done by lethal injection, Ernst decides to fight courageously for himself and his fellow patients.

Critic Reviews for Nebel im August

  • A bizarre film delving into the elimination of those considered 'defective' - a dress rehearsal for the holocaust to come. But where instead of Nazi stock villains - delusional, both elegant and creepy health care workers perform imagined acts of mercy.
