That’s the whole concept and Barker’s insight. If you want to make someone love you above all else... the only way to accomplish this is to dehumanize them, to strip away everything about them that made them someone you wanted to be with.

I wasn’t informed that I need to bring my ID to watch the movie. The staff scanned my tickets prior to asking for it so I wasn’t able to get a refund or an exchange for my tickets. I wasted $31 for nothing.

An indie-horror film that is so nostalgic, heartwarming, and even unserious, is at the same time, absolutely genuinely unnerving. Such a different and interesting take on that thriller/horror genre, and using the lens of a relationship to portray it. On top of that, little to no CGI was ever used then entire film. Just great lighting, angles, and acting. Absolute cinema.
