RZA'S ONE SPOON OF CHOCOLATE follows Unique (Shameik Moore, "Dope" and voice of Miles Morales in the Spider-Verse films), a veteran and ex-convict seeking a fresh start in a small town. After an altercation with a gang of locals, he starts to suspect they may have something to do with the disappearance of young men in the area -- including his cousin. As he digs for the truth, he finds himself the target of not only the gang, but the local sheriff's office, whose involvement in the disappearances may be even more sinister. Instead of waiting for his turn to be picked off, Unique and those closest to him (Paris Jackson, RJ Cyler) decide to fight back in this sharply satirical and stylish action thriller from the visionary leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.

One Spoon of Chocolate looks hard at America’s racist past and present, but without the ingenuity or steely nerve of the Wu’s finest moments. Go to Full Review

Thankfully, some climactic fight scenes, featuring strong action choreography and a clear overall presentation, give 'One Spoon of Chocolate' the great emotional release it needs after so much dramatic buildup. Go to Full Review

The necessity to keep this conversation going no matter what is one of the most crucial ones the film ends up transmitting. Too bad that by the time it happens, the audience’s patience, much like that of the protagonist’s, sadly might have worn thin. Go to Full Review

Wearing its 1970s influences on its visual sleeves, this ponderous satirical thriller emphasizes vintage style over contemporary substance. Go to Full Review

One Spoon of Chocolate is unapologetically savage in such a suffocating manner where our protagonists are never safe. Even when they believe they are. Go to Full Review

This was a 10/10 no lie!! The fight scenes are good tho See more C S. @tvmoviefilm_fan 1h One Spoon of Chocolate” moves at a steady pace, and the character development feels natural. We get to understand the lead—an ex-soldier standing up for himself and others—before things ramp up. The movie blends action and heavier themes around race, though the action keeps the focus. It’s an intense watch, but overall pretty engaging. See more Read all reviews
