It falls short of greatness, but Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil remains an entertaining mix of highbrow satire at war with the coolest brand of crass comedy our cinema has to offer. Go to Full Review

The story of the brothers provides remarkable emotional depth to the film until the filmmaker decides to squander all the hard work for the sake of shock value. Go to Full Review

Once it enters the psychological terrain, it feels as if Ratheesh has completely lost control of his own creation, almost in a Frankensteinian way, ruining the film altogether. Go to Full Review

av 8 @anagha.vinay 5d It started off slow and repetitive, dragging the Markose carcass around for too long. Just when I had made up my mind it would fall below mediocrity, it threw in some good action our way. Towards the end, everything was happening too fast to be processed. Although the ending felt justified, the pace absolutely did not. The plot and climax could have used a slow burn and more intense build-up. Some of the character arcs were purely cringe-worthy, and better thought could have been put into them. The story isn't much. However, the show stealers are the stellar-killer performances given by Kunchacko Boban and Dileesh Pothan. Sajin Gopu's character also became quite endearing towards the end. There are no twists in the movie. You know what they are going for if you are good at the game of guessing. See more Nandhu R @Kingmaker___6 Apr 22 The excitement from the trailer didn’t match the movie. It’s filled with fun moments and satirical comedy, which worked well for me personally. The main characters’ performances are very good. The flashback portion of Rajendra Prasad, especially the love story, stands out. However, the second half fails to maintain the same excitement as the first half, and the message they try to convey doesn’t land properly. Overall, it’s a watchable flick. See more arvind S @Arvind100 Apr 20 Kunchacko Boban wearing false teeth seems to be a thing in Ratheesh-Kunchacko collaborations. The character of Sethu is very effectively portrayed by Kunchacko. From being a timid doormat at the start, his transformation is brilliantly captured. I would rate this as one of his finest performances till date. The other standouts are Dileesh Pothan & director turned actor Chidambaram. The latter, who makes his acting debut makes a strong case for future acting roles. Sajin Gopu channels a familiar energy but is a treat to watch. RBP is a master of satire and ODS is the kind of movie that he excels at. There are subtle jibes at the things, events that we have witnessed around us. Unlike his other movies, this one has a massive tonal change in the 2nd half, but that was a given. The final act is a bit rushed as it does not fully realise the transformation of Sethu. Maybe a few extra minutes would have helped. But that doesn't negate the fact that this movie is bloody good.
