Claudio C @Claudio666 Mar 28 Delightful Romantic Comedy (12,357 – 27 Mar 2026) In Paraiso, Carmen and Alfredo is a happily married fat couple in love with each other and having a simple life. When Alfredo is invited to move to Mexico City by the bank he works, it is a promotion in his career. They are invited to a party in the bank and Carmen overhears two women gossiping in the toilet saying how fat and tacky they are. She decides to join a diet club and forces Alfredo to go with her. She also joins an academy and a culinary club. Alfredo loses 48 Kg while Carmen wins 7 kg, and he becomes a handsome and elegant man, affecting Carmen’s relationship with him. "Paraíso", a.k.a. "Paradise" (2013), is a delightful Mexican romantic comedy with an interesting storyline about a fat couple that does not care for their weight. Their perfect life is affected when she decides to lose weight. Her brief affair with her acquaintance is the negative part of the plot. My vote is seven. Allerdings ist das kein Happy Ending, sondern der Beginn der Geschichte. Da es schöner nicht geht, wirds im Verlauf der Handlung komplizierter. Carmen und Alfredo ziehen aus der Vorstadt nach Mexico City. Für die Mega City sind sie aber offensichtlich nicht geschaffen. Konfrontiert mit dem herrschenden Schönheitswahn, beginnt Carmen, an ihrem Körper zu zweifeln. Ihr Mann verändert sich in jeder Hinsicht (auch körperlich!), sie stagniert. Das Vertrauen der Liebenden bröckelt. Hier gehts um den ewigen Widerstreit der eigenen mit den fremden Vorstellungen. Körperlichkeit ist das nur ein sehr anschauliches Beispiel.
