Something about Pavane doesn’t feel natural, but that’s the point. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it, but I will admit I was slightly bored at many points, ultimately leaving me a little confused about how I feel about the film. Go to Full Review

With emotionally heavy themes of love and bullying, Pavane balances its subject matter with well-timed lighthearted comedy. Go to Full Review

At its core, loneliness and a fleeting sorrow permeate Pavane (2026) that belies the film’s inevitable end. Go to Full Review

Pavane gestures toward the romantic melancholy of films like Never Let Me Go or One Day, but it never quite earns that emotional sweep. Go to Full Review

For audiences accustomed to fast-paced narratives and constant stimulation (yes reel addicts, I am talking about you!), Pavane may feel slow. It demands patience, attention, and emotional availability. In fact, it is not a film to be watched distractedly. Go to Full Review

Vickie M @RT88848148 Jul 1 An exquisite slow burn of a film, deeply moving and bittersweet as all of the best love stories often are. The three main characters develop before our eyes, much as they develop before one another. I will think of this film long after the initial viewing. The soundtrack is beautiful. I discovered I had my Apple Music account open so I could search and download each classical piece introduced. I will likely watch it again soon so I can absorb and appreciate the subtle nuances of this beautiful love story. I find so much pleasure in watching these small, international films. Sometimes American television and movies can be too "in your face," or they try the "Cinderella" approach of prettying up an unconventional looking character to excuse why a handsome man would be attracted to her. But not so much here. We come to love all three main characters as they are, warts and all. Just lovely. This is one of those masterpieces that makes you think about life. It was so real. I have watched many kdramas, but the drama in this movie felt like it was real people just living their lives. It gave me a chance to slow down and to appreciate the little things. I think all kdrama watchers should watch this movie. It may not be your style at all, but it was not mine either. Yet since watching this movie 2 weeks ago, I continue to think on it and consider the value in the little things. This film truly deserves an award. And what is the best thing about this movie? Like many shows when the main character may not be considered pretty, they are forced to change their style, they way they are, the way they dress, or they may need to put on make up. The story of Pavane is loving someone for who they truly are and for what truly matters. See more Celia B @OliveLudicrous Feb 25 I fell in love with this movie after five minutes. The story is heartbreaking, the characters original. Wonderful actors and the right kind of nerdy, weird directing. It is funny, clever, wise, poetic and recognisable, no matter where you are from. I laughed out loud and cried my eyes out, again and again, while cheering the three main characters on. I cannot remember last time I enjoyed watching a movie that much. Recommended with all my heart. See more Maricel R @Marya15 Feb 24 Pavane moved me. It’s slow-paced, but that’s exactly where its beauty lies. The story unfolds gently, allowing the emotions to sink in deeply. It’s simple yet very relatable, you can see yourself in the characters and their quiet struggles. The three lead actors delivered subtle but powerful performances that felt real and sincere. It’s not loud or dramatic, but it lingers in your heart long after the film ends.
