Audience Reviews for Pippi Longstocking
An amazing film for children! Pippi is a fascinating one-of-a-kind girl with red pigtails and long mismatched stockings, who lives alone in a large house in a Swedish coastal village. (Her father is a off at sea, and her mother is in heaven.) Pippi meets a brother and sister named Tommy and Annika. The three of them have some crazy adventures throughout the movie, and get into all sorts of trouble; not good role models. We also have Pippi's horse and monkey (Mr. Nilsson) along for some fun. The adults of the village are concerned that Pippi is unsafe living on her own and attempt to put her in another home. There are other great scenes when Pippi deals with some neighbourhood bullies and two thieves who want to steal her bag of gold. It's great fun done in a Swedish style, giving it a rich flavour. The dubbed lines add to the charm. It has a catchy theme song too.
