Rapid Response helps, in a small way, to deglamourise the dangerous thrill of the racetrack. Go to Full Review

Its microfocus, anecdotal structure, and reliance on archive footage and talking heads, undoubtedly makes this one for the true devotees of motorsports, but they'll not want to miss it. Go to Full Review

This sincere and workmanlike documentary about the introduction of medical assistance and safety protocols into the world of American motor racing... is initially engaging, but quickly becomes formally and fatally repetitive. Go to Full Review

Shocking statistics, spectacular crashes and talking heads make up this film about the development of US motor racing safety. It's initially fascinating and sometimes jaws-dropping, though it's also repetitive and overlong. Go to Full Review

If you are a race fan, this is a must-see. See more 09/17/2019 There were some crazy crashes shown in this film. Pretty interesting to learn about how auto safety has changed so much over the past few decades. See more 09/13/2019 I will start by stating I am a life long fan of IndyCar and auto racing in general. This film and the book it is born from show the evolution in safety in IndyCar and motor racing as a whole from the 1950's to present. The film relies on interviews with the physicians and first responders that devoted their careers to bringing safety in racing from the dark ages, to cutting edge and the pioneering efforts to take it from a sport where many were maimed and killed regularly to a place where now most incidents allow drivers to walk away unhurt. Numerous drivers are interviewed to give first hand accounts of their care from accidents, but also the steps that were taken to evolve, cars, tracks and safety overall to learn from and prevent the same outcome. The crash footage that is shown is not for shock value, but to give the viewer a glimpse in to what these physicians responded to on the track and how they pushed to improve the outcome for the drivers to not have to pay a life altering penalty for crashing a race car. This is a well put together film that really only shows a glimpse of the efforts that have been made to make racing as safe as possible. I believe that this film is a must-see for anyone that cares about motor sports at all, and could be eye opening to any viewer explaining safety and the thought and care that goes in to protecting and caring for race drivers. See more 09/12/2019 A powerful documentary that tells the story of the evolution of medical care given at Indycar racing events. I am a lifelong fan, and even I learned quite a lot.
