Four years after dropping out of high school, rebellious Robin (Alessandro Nivola) is still trapped in his small Illinois town. Frustrated, Robin deliberately breaks the window of a hardware store and lands in jail. Vengeful cop Eddie (Bruce Norris), who blames Robin for his nephew's accidental death years earlier, leaves him under the supervision of Deputy Quinn (William Sadler), who's trying to get away long enough to see his girlfriend. But Robin keeps escaping, foiling Quinn's plans.
