Movie Info

The low-budget crime drama Robin's Hood is the directorial debut for writer/director Sara Millman. Robin (co-screenwriter Khahtee V. Turner) is a black bisexual social worker trying to help out her rough Oakland neighborhood. She winds up out of a job after she gets suspended for letting drug addicts who violated their probation stay on welfare. By then, she has already fallen in love with French-speaking butch criminal Brooklyn (Clody Cates). The two join up for a series of bank robberies, followed by large charitable donations to needy neighborhood residents and community centers all in the name of robbing from the rich in order to give to the poor. The media and others chase after them, leading to a violent conclusion. Robin's Hood was screened at the 2003 San Francisco Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
