Movie Info

In this chiller an unprincipled, avaricious surgeon reconstructs the face of an innocent go-go dancer in the likeness of his estranged daughter, whom he hasn't seen in years, so he can collect her enormous inheritance. He thinks his daughter is gone for good, like her boy friend and his own wife, but he is mistaken. Now the surgeon must kill again, but the question is: who will he kill?

Scalpel belongs to a strain of films that explore the connections between plastic surgery, personal identity and mythic transformation... a Southern gothic melodrama whose bizarre love triangle drips with psychosexual subtexts and madness.
