The world knows Selena's unforgettable story as the Queen of Tejano Music--but only the Quintanillas truly knew her. For the first time, the family behind Selena y Los Dinos opens their personal archives to share her story as it's never been told. From director Isabel Castro (Mija), Selena y Los Dinos reveals the stunning origin and meteoric rise of Selena Quintanilla through the voices of those closest to her--her parents, Marcella and Abraham, sister Suzette, brother A.B. III, husband Chris, and bandmates. The documentary tracks the family's origins from dinnertime performances at their Tex Mex restaurant in Lake Jackson to their hard-won ascendence to the top of Tejano charts as the world began to recognize Selena's undeniable talent and sparkling charm. Using never-before-seen footage, including home videos that reveal Selena in a new light as a sister, daughter, and wife, Selena y Los Dinos tells the story of a family band and its superstar vocalist who broke down the walls between regional Tejano music and mainstream charts--all in the way she was raised: as a Quintanilla.

See more Genesis M. @xoxo_gen Jan 2 this document is my all time favorite. I come from a Latino/Hispanic background and Selena was one of the core characters in our culture. She makes me feel proud to be a Hispanic woman. This documentary WILL make you cry, atleast it made me cry. The end credits did it for me. R.I.P Selena Quintanilla you were such a wonderful person.💕 See more Sedale S. @sedale143 Jan 1 Ending the year in tears. Even though I am far from a Latina woman, I relate to her story of finding herself culturally since being born of 2 worlds with obstacles of language and acceptance with your roots. She was always destined to have her impact on the world outlast her existence, taken too soon. See more William @Will1 Nov 23 So much great never seen footage to see here. What really blew me away was how well they cast the movie Selena. We all know JLo killed it as Selena but here you’ll discover all the actors did an incredible job playing the family, her husband etc. - because you get to see and listen to these people in this documentary. The actors in the film were like perfect doubles they even sound like them when they speak - superb casting and this documentary confirms what an amazing job they did on that film. This is definitely a great tribute to Selena’s life. See more Alyssa P @RT89398313 Nov 22 Amazing... Just amazing. I smiled, cried and laughed.
